On Tuesday, Muharram 25, 1438H, the College of Business Administration at UQU held an introductory meeting for the students of the college, with the aim of introducing the departments of the college to the newcomer students and welcoming them.
Held at Active Learning Hall at the college, the meeting was attended by Dr. Sultan bin Ayed Al-Baqmi, the Dean of the College of Business Administration, Dr. Ahmad Al-Qarni, the Deputy of the College of Business Administration, and a group of departments’ heads and faculty members.
After welcoming the attendees, Dr. Sultan Al-Baqmi gave a speech in which he assured that the entire faculty members are in the service and assistance of the students, and then he talked about the distinction of the college, especially in the area of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and the fact that it includes different specializations and distinct faculty members from various nationalities that work at the service of Makkah Al-Mukarramah. In addition, he pointed out to the strategic plan of the college as per the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and its pursuit of academic accreditation according to quality standards. Over and above, Dr. Al-Baqmi encouraged the students to participate in student activities to unleash their talents and benefit from the different cultural, educational and sports programs.
On his part, Dr. Al-Qarni talked about student activities and their benefits, and urged all students from all departments to enroll in the student clubs.
Following, Dr. Mahmoud Falatah, the Head of the Department of Marketing, and Dr. Ali Al-Qasem, the Head of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality, presented the departments of the college, the main courses in each department, and the various job opportunities available after graduation. Then the students raised their questions and inquiries about different issues regarding the college, the departments and the academic accreditation.
Concluding, a students session was held in which senior students at the college’s different departments answered the questions of the newcomer students, shared with them their experiences during the years they spent at the college, and gave them various beneficial advices. The session was moderated by student Aseel Abdullah from the Department of Business Administration.
