On Wednesday, 2 Rabi` Al-Awwal 1441 A.H., corresponding to 30 October 2019 A.C., in the Lecture Hall of the Department of Islamic Architecture, a presentation was held on the project of monitoring and documentation of the Hindawiya District of Makkah. The presentation was held in cooperation with the Secretariat of the Holy Capital, represented by the Department of Slum Upgrading and FalconVIZ Company, and focused on documenting aerial photography using drones.
Due to the importance of summer training for the department, the students monitored the current status of the Al-Hindawiya neighborhood. They drew up a plan to work on gathering information about Al-Hindawiya neighborhood. They made field visits to survey the current situation of the area. The information was then worked on in the form of maps to be used to develop appropriate solutions for the development of the region.
The outcome of the work during the summer training was the land use map, the buildings altitude map, the buildings structural systems map, and a map of the conditions of the buildings. The field situation of the area was also monitored, and some suggestions were made for the development of the region.
