A Training Course Entitled “Active Learning Strategies and Utilizing Sources of Information” on the Occasion of the World Teachers’ Day

The UQU Vice Deanship of Library Affairs for Branches Affairs, in cooperation with the Vice Deanship of Community Service and the Department of Education at Al-Qunfudhah University College, held a training course entitled, “Active Learning Strategies and Utilizing Sources of Information”, on the occasion of the World Teachers' Day.

The course was presented by His Excellency the Vice Dean of Libraries for Branches, Dr. Matar bin Ahmad Al-Eissa, and Dr. Muharram Yahiya Muhammad Afifi.

The course included several important points, such as introducing the concept and psychology of learning, the concept of active learning and its importance for the teacher and student, its characteristics, and the basic principles related to how it happens. The course also discussed models of strategies of active learning and the proper evaluation methods.

In the second session, the course discussed the importance of information sources in developing teachers’ capabilities. Moreover, the session highlighted the proper ways of utilizing the available information sources and making use of them in serving education, as well as developing and enriching the educational material provided to the student.
