In the event that an approval is issued for the academic staff members to work as part-time consultants for the governmental and private sectors, the following shall be adhered to:

  • When considering requests to work as part-time consultants in the private or governmental sector, ensure that academic staff members are adequately available, among whom are university doctors, and that their work load is (35) hours per week, as a minimum, in accordance with article (41) of the regulations governing the affairs of Saudi university employees who are members of the teaching staff and the like.
  • Adhere to article (66) of the regulations governing the affairs of Saudi university employees who are members of the teaching staff and the like, which states: "The services of a faculty member at the university as a part-time consultant may be utilized in the government entity, the private sector, or regional or international organizations which are located in the Saudi Kingdom." This includes the sixth paragraph, which states: "The consultant shall submit an annual report to the Minister of Education, as well as a report upon the expiry of his/her consultation period, on the work that he/she has accomplished during the consultation period, and also provide the university director with a copy thereof."
