The College of Business Administration held a symposium titled “Banking Skills and Conduct” on Tuesday 27 Jamada I 1437 H. at the ceremonies hall in the College seat in Riee’ Zhakher. The symposium was attended by the College staff and students. It was delivered by Amani Sadaqa Amin Wazzan, the Head of Branch Development at the National Arab Bank, and Shahd A-Abassi, the Director of the National Arab Bank- Aziziya Branch, under the supervision of Dr. Suzan Abdelqader Wazzan, the Vice-Dean of the College (females), and Dr. Awatef Abdellatif Al-Lomi, the lecture coordinator.

Ms. Wazzan gave a brief overview of the establishment National Arab Bank, the development of its works based on improving the staff’s professional conduct and developing their culture in the field of banking services such as the ATM card services, and selling banking services like credit cards, loans and investment funds. Ms. Shahd Al-Abassi also reviewed the skills and conduct that should be adopted by bankers, including honesty, confidentiality and cheerfulness.

At the top of the aspects tackled by the symposium were the skills that should be acquired by students to pass the recruitment interviews in banks and success in the field of banking. In addition, the experience of the Ms. Wazzan and Ms. Al-Abassi since their recruitment was discussed. Advice was given to students who were also warned against some common mistakes. Students were also stimulated and encouraged to develop their skills in generating profits for the bank, offering all banking goods and services and solving the customers’ problems. Moreover, differences between banks were highlighted, especially the quality of service and the rates of profits and fees. The professional ethics, including the non-disclosure of the bank’s or customers’ confidential information, were stressed, and the students’ questions were answered.

At the end, the organizers delivered thanks to both trainers for their cooperation, accepting the invitation and the valuable information given by them. As a token of appreciation, certificates of recognition were awarded to them.
