The College of Health Sciences, represented by the Department of Emergency Medical Services, organized on Thursday 07 Rajab 1437 H. (14 April 2016) a workshop titled “First Aid” for preparatory year students (Medical Studies). The workshop was held at the Emergency Medical Services laboratories in the College.

A presentation was given on the importance of learning first aid and the need to be familiar with the components of first-aid kits. It also focused on the way of dealing with the different cases that require immediate emergency intervention such as epistaxis, bleeding, injuries, fractures, sunstrokes, suffocation, burns, syncope, traumas and proper transportation of patients. Students were also trained into how to open the airway and conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
