The Dean of Al-Qunfudhah University College, Prof. Omar bin Abdullah Al-Hazzazi, visited the Department of Chemistry and the biology section yesterday morning. He was received and welcomed by the members of the department, where he learned about all the male and female members of the academic staff and their qualifications and also received their resumes. Prof. Al-Hazzazi said the goal of this visit was to boost the mutual relations, listen to the department's problems, find suitable solutions, and forward the department's demands to the university leadership. He also explained some administrative affairs adopted by him to foster harmony between him and the department, such as attaining notable achievements, follow up, interaction with the students, and opening the gates for visitors.

The dean checked on the laboratories of the Department of Chemistry, and pledged to build two more laboratories in the college's new building. Various topics were also discussed with the dean, including opening a biology department, and they agreed to submit the accreditation documents of the biology department, according to the regular procedures required to obtain university approval. The meeting also discussed increasing the number of lab technicians in the Department of Chemistry and the biology section, as there is only one technician for all the laboratories.

The college dean explained that he will grant the department the needed powers to log into the Oracle system to facilitate the student registration process, deletion and addition procedures, and the involvement in the educational process, according to schedule. He also said that he will provide computers, printers, scanners and photocopying machine for the department and its members in the male and female sections. The department appreciated the visit of the dean and his keenness to develop all the departments of the college.
