On November 3^rd, 216, under the auspices of Dr. Hashim ibn Ahmed Alsamdani, the Qunfudah University College, the College Scientific Research Unit received the faculty members at the Mathematics Department,

Present at the meeting were Dr. Mohammed Alhazimi, the College vice dean; Prof. Lutfi Dibaish; the Research Unit supervisor; Dr. Hakim Ahmed Osman, the scientific departments coordinator at the Unit and faculty members of the Mathematics Department.

Still, Dr. Lutfi Daibaish, the Research Unit supervisor, began the meeting with a speech in which he presented an overview about the Research Unit, its objectives and its future programs. After that, he opened an enriching, constructive discussion with the Mathematics Department faculty members. Dr. Hakim Ahmed Osman presented a short account about the Department’s scientific accomplishments in the scientific research field. He went on to add that the Mathematics Department published 103 scientific researches on international, respectable scientific journals, from 2010 to 2016, in addition to three scientific books. He further pointed out that the Mathematics Department constantly discuss and keeps abreast with the fast-pacing scientific researches and development in the mathematics field at scientific weekly seminars. This reflects the Department’s interest in keeping pace with the latest accomplishments in terms of the specialty, seeking to ensure quality during lectures.

After that, a discussion triggered during which the Research Unit members listened to the suggestions of the Mathematics Department faculty members, and recorded them at the meeting minute. The Unit adopted such suggestions among the activities to accomplish in the days to come. Such suggestions included compiling the scientific researches of the Mathematics Department in an indexed volume for such a scientific achievement, and considering uploading them to the College’s website. They also suggested establishing statistical unit as part of the Research Unit to draw on it in terms of the statistical studies and projects which will be signed with the society institutions in Qunfudah. One more suggestion is organizing a series of training courses on the statistical program SPSS, presented by the associate professor Habi Alsair, as well as a series of training courses on using the educational aids, given by Dr. Hakim Ahmed Osman.

The Symposium concluded with a speech delivered by Dr. Mohammed Alhazimi, the College vice dean, in which he thanked the Research Unit team and the Mathematics Department faculty members. He also spoke highly of such scientific symposiums, calling for generalizing them with the rest of the College departments. Likewise, he stressed on the importance of the scientific research in developing the academic community. He went on to laud what the Mathematic Department faculty members have achieved, urging them to make more accomplishments and to participate in the scientific and academic activities within and outside the College.
