On Tuesday morning, 12 Rajab 1440 A.H., the College of Computing in Al-Qunfudhah held a seminar under the supervision of the Computer Club and the noble patronage of her Excellency the Vice Dean of the College of Computing in Al-Qunfudhah. The seminar was entitled: "Security and Privacy on Social Media."
The seminar targeted female students. It was presented by Ms. Muna Al-Oufi, who posed a question to female students about the effects of social media on our current times. She also talked about the art of penetration into minds through social engineering and the role of artificial intelligence in recognizing what occurs on social media. Then, Ms. Reem Al-Harbi and Ms. Al-Jawharah Al-Zahrani talked about the methods of violating privacy and how we can safeguard ourselves against it, giving clear examples at the end of the course.
Then, work papers containing a group of websites and programs were distributed among the female students. Some of these websites and programs were safe and others were fake, and the students had to determine which websites were safe and which were unsafe using what they had learnt during the course.
