The College of Computing in Al-Qunfudhah held a training course for the academic staff in the college entitled, "The Use of the E-Learning Portal". The course was held on Tuesday, 21 Jumada Al-Thani, 1440 A.H., and was presented by Dr. Ahmad Al-Alawi, the academic staff member at the college.

The course aimed to enable faculty members to use the e-learning portal, and to access and manage the study courses using modern computing methods, which reduce time and effort. It focused on various themes, which include outlining the importance of the e-learning concept, introducing the e-learning portal, identifying the environments and tools for e-learning, and explaining how to design an e-course.

The course was organized at the Computer Lab (4) under the supervision of Dr. Khalid Al-Marhabi, Vice Dean of the College for Development and Entrepreneurship, and the follow up of His Excellency Dr. Jabir bin Sa`id Al-Zahrani, the Dean of the College of Computer Sciences and the College of Engineering in Al-Qunfudhah.

The event comes within the efforts exerted to disseminate the e-learning culture as being one of the most important objectives of Umm Al-Qura University, and to keep pace with the state's vision to develop education.
