Computing College at Al-Qunfudhah Nominates its Candidate for the 'How to be a Role Model' Program

During the qualifications of the first phase of the "University Role Model" contest in its third season, the Computing College at Al-Qunfudhah nominated the student "Abdul-Aziz Ali Al-Zubaidi" who won the title of "College Role Model". That was after the students presented their achievements during their study at the university, their university and community participation, and self-development programs before a panel of judges. The contest was held as part of the UQU initiatives, and is in line with the comprehensive vision of the Makkah Region that is adopted by His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the Adviser to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of the Makkah Region. The vision is represented by the strategy of "Human Development and Land Planning and Construction", under the slogan of "How to be a Role Model". This came after the nomination and selection of the panel of judges that was composed of Their Excellencies Dr. Muhammad Musa Al Mujamid, the Vice Dean of the Computing College for Educational Affairs, Dr. Khudran Maeid Al-Zahrani, Head of the Department of Computer Sciences, Ubaid Ghazi Al-Hadraiti, a faculty member and the contest coordinator at the college, and Dr. Ulwi Muhammad Bamahdi, a faculty member at the college. Moreover, the Vice Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Al-Mat-hami, was among the attendees. The panel of judges chose the winner after a process of selection and elimination of the three student participants. The participants were: Abdul-Aziz Ali Al-Zubaidi, Ali Sulaiman Al-Salihi as the runner-up, and Ali Abdullah Al-Kudaisi.

The contest aims at contributing to enhance the student's self-confidence, spreading the culture of setting an example among the male and female students of the university, and fostering a creative and competitive environment that motivates the male and female students of Umm Al-Qura University.

At the end of the contest, the winner received the "Model" shield and a certificate of thanks. Moreover, the other two winners also received certificates of thanks for their participation and efforts.

It is worth mentioning that the winner of the first place at the level of the university receives (20,000) twenty thousand riyals, the second place receives (15000) fifteen thousand riyals, and the third place receives (10,000) ten thousand riyals.
