Under the patronage of his Excellency the Dean of Al-Qunfudhah University College, Dr. Yasin Al-Zubaidi, and his Excellency the Head of the Mathematics Department, Dr. Al-Husain Al-Nashiri, with the support of the Deanship of Student Affairs (female section) in Al-Qunfudhah, and in the presence of her Excellency the Vice-President for Female Students Affairs, Dr. Sharifah Al-Hazimi, the Mathematics Department held a program entitled, 'Mathematics in the Modern Age', on Thursday, 20 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H. In this activity, female students pointed out the role of mathematics in different fields of life, using games, pictures and exhibitions.
The exhibition included a display of examples of old and modern games that depend on thinking skills and concentration. The exhibition was marked by attractive scientific ideas, efficient organization, proficient work, and outstanding skills. The activity attracted a large number of female students. Moreover, the exhibitions and competitions gained the admiration of the community of the female section of Al-Qunfudhah University College.
