Based on the initiative of His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, and under the auspices of His Excellency the Dean of Al-Qunfudhah University College, the supervision of Dr. Sarah bint Omar Al-Khuli, UQU Vice-President for Female Students Affairs, and in the presence of the Vice-Dean of Al-Qunfudhah University College Dr. Nuwair S. Bajaber, the "Be Happy" Initiative was launched on Tuesday, 19 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H. A meeting was held with the female students in the presence of the colleges vice-deans, the academic staff and the administration staff.

The ceremony started with the recitation of the Qur'an, which was followed by the message of Her Excellency Dr. Sarah bint Omar Al-Khuli, the Vice-President for Female Students Affairs. In her message, she spoke about spreading happiness among the students, fulfilling their needs, and acknowledging their ambitions. After that, a discussion was started on the standards of happiness in university life, and the importance of spreading optimism, hope, happiness and contentment.

The event was held in the theatre of Al-Qunfudhah University College (Female Section). Everyone expressed appreciation for this intiative, and they all felt happy and contented about its aims. Her Excellency Dr. Nuwair Bajaber, the Vice-Dean of the University College, then inaugurated the exhibition, distributed flowers among the members and students of the different colleges, and distributed gifts among the female employees, which left a great impression on all the attendees.
