The Vice President for academic development and community service Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi toured the College of Computer, Al-Qunfudhah, on Wednesday 27/12/1437 H, during which he was accompanied by Development and Quality Dean Dr. Mohammad Jafar Thabet, and the vice Dean of information technology for electronic trading Dr. Atef Alhojaily and UQU team of academic accreditation, to determine the readiness of the College of Computer, Al-Qunfudhah, in preparation for the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) team visit during the month of November, to make sure they meet the requirements of international academic accreditation.
Upon arrival of the Vice President for Academic Development and Community Service Dr Hani Ghazi and his entourage, they met with the Dean of the College of computer, Al-Qunfudhah, Dr Yassin Al-Zubaidi, College members, and a number of College students, as they toured the computer labs and classrooms and related facilities.
Then the Vice President for academic development and community service Dr Hani Ghazi stated that the College of computer, Al-Qunfudhah, completed all requirements of the U.S. accreditation body in the field of computer science, pointing out that getting this accreditation translates the attention and guidance of UQU President Dr Bakry bin Maatouq Assas, that all university programs obtain international academic accreditation.
He said that accreditation represents international recognition of the quality of education and university programs, and being compatible with international standards, so that the University graduate can complete their postgraduate studies in any global University in the next phase. He pointed out that UQU achieved international accreditation for (27) programs in 10 faculties at the University level, explaining that the faculties of computer at Al-Qunfudhah and Jamoum gaining international accreditation will be the first at the University branch level.
