At the request of the Elaph Family Development Center, which is affiliated with Al-Bir Society in Al-Qunfudhah Governorate, His Excellency the Dean of the College of Health Sciences in Al-Qunfudhah, Dr. Omar bin Abdullah Al-Hazzazi, sent a delegation to hold a first aid training course for volunteers. This delegation included Prof. Ashraf Abdul-Azim Iwis, the General Supervisor of the Medical Emergency Services Department; Dr. Ahmad Ehab Hijazi; Mr. Husayn bin Muhammad Hasan Al-Nashiri; and a number of undergraduate students of the Medical Emergency Services Department. During the course, the volunteers were trained in how to deal with choking, nosebleed, diabetes fainting, shock, and different types of burns, wounds, and fractures. The volunteers were also trained in how to open the airway and to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
The course was attended by 35 trainees, who participated actively and positively with the trainers. At the end of the course, the trainees received certificates of participation, and Mr. Bilghayth Al-Rafidy, the Director of the Elaph Center, thanked the college for its contribution to raising the awareness of citizens and serving the community.
