In the framework of the attention given by Al-Qunfudhah University College to providing support to the local community and working on consolidating linkages with its different entities, the College’s Vice Deanship for Community Service inaugurated its units. This was during the College’s celebrations of the Saudi National Day 88, on Wednesday, Muharram 16, 1440 AH.

His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al-Eissi, College’s Vice Dean for Community Service, said the inauguration of the units comes in light of the directions of His Excellency Dr. Yaseen bin Abdullah Al-Zubaidi, Dean of the College, which require working on establishing service units that investigate student and local community needs, and work harmoniously for providing volunteering, training, and counseling services that contribute to meeting those needs. He pointed out that the units are as follows:

  1. Public Relations and Media Unit: The Unit is concerned with introducing the College; communicating its mission; and highlighting its leading role, in addition to cultural interaction with and engagement in the surrounding community. This is in coordination with specialized media institutions and various mass media. The Unit also undertakes the supervision of the production of the print, visual, and audio material that highlights the College’s activities, as well as the planning of the programs and events that aim to publicize and introduce the College’s work.

  1. Training Unit: The Training Unit is concerned with supervising the training activities offered by Al-Qunfudhah University College, in relation to the processes of planning, administration, and implementation and the proposing of training plans. It strives to provide distinguished training services to local community members.

  1. Volunteer Work Unit: It supervises the daily, weekly, semester, and annual projects and programs that provide services. This is within a framework of volunteer activities for the local community in various fields – the most important of which are health, environment, education, culture, and hygiene – and through continuous initiatives like the Friend of the Elderly Project; the Friend of the Orphan Project; visiting patients; supporting people with disabilities; the project for supporting school students. The Volunteer Work Unit also works, through the Community Service Unit, on training and qualifying students so they can become volunteers qualified in various areas to serve society.

  1. Guidance and Counseling Unit: The Guidance and Counseling Unit is concerned with providing counseling services to students through counseling in all its forms to help them attain psychological reassurance; a desirable state in their study; and proper social stability.
