The Dean of the Colleges of Computer and Engineering, Dr. Jabir bin Saeed Al-Zahrani, inaugurated the first meeting of the Scientific Research Committee at the College of Computer. The meeting was attended by  the Vice Dean of the College, Dr. Abdullah Al-Zahrani; the Head of the Computer Department, Dr. Mohammed Al-Mojamid; the Head of Information Systems Department, Dr. Musab Al-Zaghoul; the Head of Computer Engineering Department, Dr. Omar Al-Zoghbi; the Head of the Scientific Research Unit, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Zubaidi, and a number of faculty members including Dr. Oulwi Bamhadi,  a faculty member at the college, and the Vice Dean of the College of Engineering

After thanking Allah and extending prayers and peace upon his prophet, the Dean welcomed the attendees, expressing his optimism about the expected results from the Scientific Research Unit, headed by Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Zubaidi who spoke about the importance of scientific research for faculty members, and the importance of publishing research in distinct scientific journals, eventually contributing to improving the level of UQU. He also spoke about scholarships provided in UQU through the Deanship of Scientific Research, as well as scholarships provided abroad through the campus of King Abdulaziz for Sciences and Technology, pointing out the importance of being aware of these scholarships’ conditions and dates.

The meeting focused on several aspects. The most prominent ones were: The state’s future trends and the 2030 vision, the importance of research groups in carrying out research projects, the importance of King Fahd E-Library in scientific research as a main source of databases, using programs and tools in scientific research, and the (Latex - Weka) programs. Dr. Musab and several faculty members have participated in fruitful discussions during the meeting.
