Within the annual plan of community service, Al-Qunfudhah Health Sciences College, females section, in collaboration with the Deanship of Preparatory year organized an awareness campaign on diabetes under the slogan of (Diabetes and Women) at the Headquarters of the Deanship of Preparatory year and the College of Computer on Tuesday November 14, 2017.
The college has been very keen to organize this campaign stemming from its role in the field of community service and awareness whereas the program included a lecture on diabetes (its types, symptoms, complications, coexistence with the disease and how to avoid its negative complications and the prevention against it), educational video, an awareness exhibition with corners on healthy diet, some unhealthy habits, pregnancy diabetes and foot health.
The program included also speech of "My Friend Diabetes" in which the child Asmaa Al-Marhabi talked about the beginning of her disease, accepting and living with the disease and the role of its family in dealing with her disease and its complications.
Additionally, blood sugar was measured for the audience, medical and nutritional tips were provided and awareness brochures and leaflets were distributed.
At the conclusion of the program, the audiences were appreciated and the child Asmaa was honored, wishing her and everyone best health.
