On Tuesday, 10 Shaaban 1437 H. Al-Qunfudhah College of Computer Sciences (females) held a graduation ceremony for the second batch of students for the academic year 1436-1437 H. under the auspices of the Vice-dean Dr. Amani bint Hamad Al-Shuaibi. The ceremony was attended by a number of staff members, the region’s general education officials and the graduates’ mothers. Local press representatives were also present in the ceremony.
The ceremony started at 11:30 with the recitation of some verses from the Holy Quran. The procession was led by the Vice-Dean and the staff members. Afterwards, the Vice-Dean delivered a welcome speech and then a film titled “Dream Begins” was screened.
The film started with the national royal anthem and tackled the efforts exerted by Saudi Arabia to develop the educational system, with special focus on the attention paid by the government to educational institutions, including Umm al-Qura University (UQU) and its branches in different provinces. A speech was then delivered by the College Dean, Dr. Yassin bin Abdullah Al-Zubaidi on behalf of UQU President, Dr. Bakri bin Maatouk Assas. The Vice-Dean, Dr. Amani Al-Shuaibi gave a speech, followed by other speeches delivered by the Vice-Dean, Dr. Ahmed Al-Issa; the Vice-Dean for Educational Affairs, Dr. Atiq Al-Zahrani; the Head of the Department of Computer Sciences, Dr. Muaz Naguib; the Deputy Head of the Department, Mrs. Rosi Hanifa; the staff members; and finally the graduates. In the end of the film, the graduates’ names were screened. Afterwards, graduates read words of loyalty showing gratitude to their homeland and their university and undertaking to employ the knowledge they acquired for the benefit of their religion, homeland and society.
Afterwards, tribute was paid to staff members, brilliant students, students who took part in the seventh academic conference and those who were engaged in the “Token of Loyalty” activities. The ceremony ended with the patriotic show “Love and Belonging”.
