Report on New Female Students Introductory Meetings, Qunfudah University College

Under the patronage of Dr. Yaseen Al-Zubaidy, Dean of the University College in Qunfudah, and in the presence of Dr. Nowair Bajaber, the Vice-Dean, the introductory meetings of the new students for the academic year 1438/1439H were held from Sunday 18th Muharram 1439H to Thursday, 22nd Muharram 1439H. The event was also under the patronage of the Vice-Deanship of Student Affairs (Girls Section) and in cooperation with the academic depaartments in the College’s theatre.

The meeting started with a Qur’anic Recitation followed by a speech by Dr. Nowair Bajaber in which she welcomed the new students, urged them to exert more effort and be distinguished, and extended deep thanks to all the organizers of the success of such meeting. Then, Dr. Sharifa Al-Hazemi gave a speech in which she explained that Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) was keen to provide programs and introductory meetings for new students, remove the obstacles they faced and to introduce them to regulations and systems of education or service and to the university community in general. She also talked about the activities of the College in which female students could enroll to develop their skills and to occupy their free time usefully.

The department assistant heads also delivered speeches, in which they discussed the systems and regulations adopted in the Students' Rights and Duties Manual issued by the Deanship of Admission and Registration. Moreover, they pointed out to the most significant points in the Manual, including the mechanism of withdrawal or apology for the semester. In addition, the students were briefed on the bases of academic guidance, which reduced the difficulties of registration that might face students in each semester.   

The ceremony concluded with entertainment and competitions, while gifts and awards were distributed among new students.
