His Excellency the Dean of Al-Qunfudhah University College, Dr. Hussein bin Dhaifullah Al-Malki, praised the progress of Umm Al-Qura University in the QS World University Ranking, as the university advanced 4 places to be included within the top 447 universities at the global level. "The university is ranked the thirteen in the Arab World and fourth at the local level," the dean expounded. This came during the sixth meeting of the College Council held on Tuesday, 13 Rabi` Al-Awwal 1443 A.H.

The meeting discussed a number of topics, including: extension of the scholarship of some students and requests for holding alternative exams for students who were absent in the second semester of the academic year 1442 A.H.

Additionally, requests for excellence allowances were reviewed for some academic staff members who published scientific papers. Appropriate recommendations were made concerning these agenda items.
