The College of Education, represented by the Department of Special Education, has reviewed volunteers activities took place during the second semester of the academic year 1437/1438H. The review took place on Thursday, 8/8/1438H at the college in Al Zaher under the auspices of Graduate Studies Dean Dr. Hala bint Saeed Al Amoudi. It was attended by Vice-Dean for Scientific Research Affairs Dr. Hanady Beheiry, Vice-dean of the college for Educational Affairs Dr. Kawthar Baljon, Vice-dean of E-Learning Dr. Hanaa Yamani, a group of administrative assistant managers, academics, employees and students.
During the meeting, student members of the volunteering committee, provided a presentation on the volunteering research activities at the department. In the same context, Vice-dean of Special Education Department Dr. A small exhibition of research posters was held depending on the results of these services, Nermin Qutub said, adding around thirty posters was shown in the exhibition. A student presented an explanation for a mechanism adopted to spread volunteering scientific research culture in addition to the idea of scientific posters. She said the mechanism depended on various measures that included attending lectures and workshops during the semester.
Up to 95 students and four academics participated in the volunteering service with researches on different fields of study.
For her part, Vice-dean of the College of Education Dr. Somaya bint Ezzat Sharaf who is the leader of Ataa Research Initiative hailed efforts exerted to bridge the gap of research activity between bachelor students and the post-graduate students. The efforts included spread of the research writing principles which are almost through with the goals of Ataa initiative that calls for spreading volunteer research services to serve the surrounding community.
Al Amoudi concluded the activities by honoring students. In the same context, Dr. Baljon hailed efforts exerted by the department under the supervision of the vice-dean for special education to spread culture of volunteering and to encourage student scientific efforts.
