Vision

Leadership and excellence in the qualification and training of the pedagogical supervisors, managers, instructors and their equivalents to promote the level of the educational process in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Overview

It is one of the oldest Training Courses Centers at Umm Al-Qura University. Since its establishment in 1395 A.H. at the College of Education, its mission has been to plan and organize training courses to supervisors, leading figures, educators, pioneers of activities, teachers, supervisors of curriculum, counsellors, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Defense and Aviation (Department of Culture and Education), the National Guard, and the Royal Authority, and to qualify teachers with a General Diploma in Education.

The director of the Center should be one of the College of Education's experienced and scientifically qualified professors.

Since its establishment, the Center has had its own regulations, bylaws, secretaries, and administration. In addition, it provides highly sought-after services in order to properly develop and train qualified educational personnel.

The Training Courses Center is regarded as one of the most distinguished features of the College of Education in Makkah, at Umm Al-Qura University.

Praise be to Allah, the training courses started more than 35 years ago, through which the College of Education has managed to provide an outstanding service and good experience to many educators since 1393 A.H, not confined to employees working in the educational sector inside Makkah, but also to educators of all regions of the Kingdom who are affiliated to several entities, including the Department of Culture and Education at the Ministry of Defense and Aviation, the National Guard, the Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu, and the Ministry of Interior. The first categories to be trained, skillfully developed, and provided with new information were the education leaders from different cities of the Kingdom. Later on, and year after year, programs of the Training Courses Center extended to include the then-heads of educational counselling in departments of education throughout the Kingdom.

These ongoing training courses have been attended by heads of educational counselling, educational supervisors from different specializations and levels, education leaders, supervisors and pioneers of student activities, and teachers who used to work in the field of counselling, guidance, measurement and evaluation. Furthermore, the Center has contributed to the preparation of a very large number of male and female students and male and female teachers through the Program of General Diploma of Education. In addition, it has prepared curriculum supervisors to participate in building, developing and evaluating curricula through the Curriculum Supervisors Course.
