The Training Courses Center offers two programs:

  1. Sequential Educational Preparation Program
  2. Diploma Program, which includes three diplomas:
  • General Diploma of Education
  • Measurement and Assessment Diploma
  • Counseling and Guidance Diploma

First: General Diploma of Education:

Program Objectives: The General Diploma of Education Program aims to educationally qualify the graduates of bachelor's degrees from different scientific disciplines to help them enter the teaching profession.

Program Advantages:

  • Holders of the General Diploma of Education are placed on the fifth level when they join governmental educational positions.
  • Holders of the General Diploma of Education may complete their higher education in the educational disciplines after meeting the other necessary requirements.

Program Entry Requirements:

Article 13 of the Unified Regulations for Graduate Studies in Saudi Universities shall apply to those wishing to enroll in the General Diploma of Education, which stipulates in part:

The applicant must be a Saudi national, or born to a Saudi mother, or, if non-Saudi, hold an official post-graduate scholarship. The applicant must have obtained a university degree from a Saudi university or other accredited university. The applicant should have a grade of at least "good." The applicant must be of good conduct. The applicant must be medically fit. The applicant must obtain the approval of their employer, if they are employed.

Duration and Fees of the Program:

The duration of the General Diploma of Education Program is one academic year (two semesters).

The tuition fee has been determined by the College of Community Service and Continuing Education for enrollment in the program as SAR 5,000.

Second: Diploma in Educational Counseling and Guidance.

Program Objectives:

The program aims to prepare and qualify psychologists in the field of counseling and guiding students in primary, middle and secondary schools in light of the objectives and tasks set by the Ministry of Education.

Some of the main tasks of the student advisor are:

  1. Counseling and guidance of the student in all psychological, educational, social and professional aspects, in order to become a good member of the community and be able to lead a confident and productive life.
  2. Helping students to make the most of the education programs available to them and guide them to the best ways to study and invest leisure time for their benefit.
  3. Discovering the aptitudes, abilities and inclinations of students and working to guide and direct those aptitudes for the benefit of the student in particular, and the community in general.
  4. Directing care to disadvantaged and disabled students, working to remove causes of such disadvantages, and developing special programs to serve their needs.
  5. Attention to discovering and nurturing talented students through special programs and providing different opportunities for the growth of their talents within the general programs.
  6. Helping students choose the type of study or profession that suits their talents, abilities, inclinations and the needs of the community.
  7. Strengthening links between home and school so that they become complementary and extensions of each other.
  8. Contributing to research studies on educational and individual problems.
  9. Utilizing all types of school activity programs to counsel and guide students.

Program Advantages:

Holders of the Diploma in Counseling and Guidance may complete their higher education in educational disciplines, after meeting the other necessary requirements.

Program Entry Requirements:

The student should be nominated by the Ministry of Education to attend the program. To be a full-time student. Their undergraduate degree should not be less than (good). To be employed. To perform the work of an academic advisor.

Third: Diploma in Measurement and Assessment

Program Objectives:

The aim of the program is to train and qualify teachers working in the Ministry of Education in the field of educational measurement and evaluation. This includes building honest and consistent achievement tests, providing the learners with methods for assessing achievement tests, and methods of analyzing test results. It also includes training in psychometrics, which may be necessary at school for educational or counseling purposes.

Program Advantages:

Holders of the General Diploma in Measurement and Evaluation may complete their graduate studies in educational disciplines, after fulfilling the other necessary requirements.

Program Entry Requirements:

  1. The applicant must be from an educational college. Graduates from other colleges shall be accepted after obtaining the educational diploma.
  2. The applicant's bachelor's grade should not be less than "Good."
  3. Nomination by the Ministry of Education.
  4. The applicant should have at least two years of practical experience.

First: Sequential Educational Preparation

The Educational Preparation Program is a comprehensive program for all educational courses, which qualifies the learner, through theoretical and practical preparation, to be an educational teacher in the general education schools of various stages, and qualifies the learner practically, through training in the field of general education schools. This is done through advance coordination between the University of Umm Al-Qura and the Department of General Education to achieve the desired goal and the acquisition of practical experience while practicing the teaching profession on the ground.

Admission requirements for the Sequential Educational Preparation Program:

  • Successful completion of bachelor's degree requirements with a cumulative GPA of at least 1 out of 4 (pass).
  • Students are not entitled to receive the graduation document if they apply for the Sequential Educational Preparation Program. The new document will be issued after the completion of the Sequential Educational Preparation Program, in which the major specialization shall be recorded in addition to educational preparation.
  • After the end of each semester, the learner can be enrolled in the Sequential Educational Preparation Program.

The mechanism of registration in the Sequential Educational Preparation Program:

  1. The application for the sequential educational preparation program is submitted during the regular application period through the website of Umm Al-Qura University (My Services - Application for the Sequential Educational preparation Program).
  2. The application availability shall be based on the student's academic status (where the student's academic status must be "expected to graduate").
  3. The registration process will be done automatically through the Sequential Educational Preparation Program through the website of Umm Al-Qura University (My Services - Application for the Sequential Educational Preparation Program).
