Overview
Overview:
The Translation and Arabization Center at Umm Al-Qura University was established per Resolution No.: (4202006452) was established in accordance with resolution No.: (4202006452) dated (8/8/1442 AH. It is one of the university units of a special nature which provide services and specialized expertise to both individuals and institutions, inside and outside the university and at the local and regional levels. The center provides accredited and refereed translation and Arabization services for academic research and textbooks. It also offers programs and training courses for those interested in translation and Arabization, in many related fields.
Objectives
Objectives:
1- Encouraging faculty members to translate academic courses and references in accordance with the established scientific principles for this purpose, by communicating with the publisher and facilitating translation and publishing procedures.
2- Highlighting the Islamic, Arab and national culture, the role of the Kingdom, and its global standing.
3- Spreading awareness of the importance of translation and Arabization, their contribution to global convergence, and building bridges of knowledge and civilized communication.
4- Contributing to the translation, Arabization, approximation, and standardization of scientific and technical terminology and concepts, and their approach.
5- Encouraging the Arabization movement, supporting the efforts made for this, and highlighting the role of the Arabic language in transferring science and knowledge.
6- Integration and partnership with centers and competent authorities which are related to translation and Arabization.
Mission
Providing information on the cultures of peoples and disseminating knowledge through the translation of different scientific, cultural and literary materials, with the aim of serving the university and the local community.
