The Physics Department was established with the establishment of Al-Qunfudhah University College, before that it was part of the Life Sciences Department in Al-Qunfudhah Teachers College. Since its establishment, the Department has been a rich source for knowledge and for graduating generations of specialists in Physics who contributed over the last years in the academic progress of the Kingdom. Over the last years, the Department witnessed great scientific, technological and administrative development.
Distinction in preparing national professionals in physics according to the international quality standards to meet the needs of the labor market in the Kingdom.
Our mission is to seek to provide all the scientific tools and capabilities that enable our students to achieve a non-stop educational, scientific and academic development. We also aspire to promote the professional status of our staff and the scientific level of our students through providing the latest accredited educational programs and capabilities that rely on modern technology in accordance with the standards adopted by the University. Therefore, the Department seeks to establish a top-notch research laboratory for this purpose.
With the ongoing development in physics and its wide scope in technological development, the department seeks to focus also on the postgraduate studies, through providing Master’s and PhD programs, especially that it has the required human assets for this mission.
