Thedepartment was established when the college opened admission for students who are qualified to work in the fields of teaching, preaching, Ifta, Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice. In addition, it actively participate in raising public awareness, preserving the values of Islam and deepening the sense of belongingness to homeland. The department qualifies the students to assume the responsibility of serving the religion and the community  and to spread the knowledge for public.

The department grants its students the degree of Bachelor in Islamic Studies (through Regular and Affiliation programs). It is hoped that the department would start admission for postgraduate studies very soon to meet the urgent need for scientific research and academic production specialties.

 

Vision:

The Department of the Islamic Studies aims at leading the academic branch of Islamic studies at local and regional levels through modern educational programs that fulfill the local standards and meet the market needs as per the mission of the college and the university.

 

Mission:

The department eyes the graduation of highly qualified cadres in the field of the Islamic studies. It promotes the spirit of creativity and entrepreneurship to serve the community, to meet its aspiration and to fulfill the labor market's needs.

 

Objectives:

1- Raising up a Muslim generation who believe in the correct rules of Islam.

2- Qualifying a group of specialists with great potentials to serve their communities and solve their problems.

3- Preparing a group of talented cadres with necessary potentials to achieve renaissance of the educational process.

4- Qualifying students in a way to continue postgraduate studies needed for bridging the shortage of teaching staff members in the kingdom's universities.
