عن General Department of Legal Affairs
Vision
The department firmly preserves the university's material and literary rights, in accordance with the regulations in force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and also provides immunity for all decisions and procedures issued by the university, legally and systematically, to achieve the highest stages of quality.
Overview
The department was established under the name, (Legal Department). Due to its activity, expansion of the scope of work, and prominent role in interpreting the rules and regulations, and preparing consultations regarding some academic and administrative aspects in the university, the UQU President issued decision no. 7259, dated 27 Rabi` Al-Thani, 1422 A.H., to change the name to "Legal and Consultancy Affairs". Later, the department's name was changed to "Legal Department", following the UQU President's decision no. (4370000750) on 1 Muharram, 1437 A.H.

Objectives
The Legal Department endeavors to achieve noble objectives and purposes that also have a positive influence on the university and its community, the most important of which are:
- To increase the quality of work in the department, and accelerate its pace through organization, rationalization and governance, besides harnessing ICT.
- To develop and boost human resources by enhancing capabilities, skills, and exchanging the acquired expertise.
- To ensure governance and simplification of the regulatory procedures.
- To activate and consolidate a culture of respecting the system, besides spreading and boosting awareness of regulations.
- To develop relations with the stakeholders and partners to limit the lawsuits filed against UQU and maintain its rights in the disputes.
Mission
The department endeavors to enforce the law in the university work environment by effecting general and specific regulations, and providing highly professional legal consultancy in a manner which preserves the rights of UQU and its staff, on and off campus.
