Abstract

The research sought to trace the evidence of the structures of Fi'līl in the Arabic language lexicons and their use in the heritage books in order to collect them and to determine the extent of their pragmatic use. The number of them was 193, some of them were Vocal transformations, others were Metathesis, and a big number was Succession with other forms.

For that purpose, the study was divided into two parts: Firstly the lexicons where we traced evidence of the use of this form in many examples. Secondly, the theoretical aspect which was about the structural form in Arabic. Finally, we concluded by analyzing the evidence of the use of (Fi'līl). All this was accomplished using both methodologies: statistical and descriptive.

The two researchers have concluded that the number of examples of the use of (Fi'līl) in classical and modern Arabic is small, and without the few references that are used in contemporary Arabic, we could have judged that these structures have been abandoned.
