  • Q\ When will admission to the Institute start?
    Admission is run once a year through the admission portal on the University’s home page. You must create a file from the University’s website > Admission Portal > New User. And continue entering your data. Then, from the website of the Deanship of Admission and Registration, download the admission guide, and adhere to the deadlines set for each stage. The application process is electronic and there is no need to come to the University.
  • Q / What are the advantages of scholarships at Umm Al-Qura University?
    Free-of-charge education. Free housing for single students, while married students with their wives that have scholarships and want to coordinate with each other, they can live at their own expense. Monthly bonus of SAR 850 per student and a free round-trip ticket are given to regular students during the summer vacation to visit their families and relatives. The educational books are free. The free treatment is at the University Medical Center or government hospitals. There are professors specialized in teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers. There are language labs to help students understand language, Department of Teaching Aids, and a scientific library specialized in teaching Arabic to non-Arabs. Meals at nominal prices for students are offered in the university restaurants.
  • Q. Is there an internal grant for non-Saudi students who have a regular residence?
    There are (internal grants) for non-Saudi students who have a regular residence; the following steps should be followed: • Personal data shall be filled in and applications shall be submitted via the online Admission Portal. After that, the choice will be based on the measured proportion. • The names shall be sent to the Ministry of Education. • The names of the accepted students shall be published on the website of Admission and Registration Deanship for the completion of admission procedures.
  • Q\What are the available opportunities to join the university colleges after graduating from the Language Teaching Department?
    Students who have been obtained an excellent rating without failing while studying the language course can continue their studies at one of UQU colleges to obtain a Bachelor's degree in the following disciplines:  Arabic Language and its Literature  Islamic Law  Dawa “Islamic Call” and the Fundamentals of Religion
  • What are the departments of the institute?
    The Institute has two departments: - Department of Arabic Language Teaching to Non-Native Speakers - Department of the Preparation of Teachers for Non-Native Speakers
  • What are the procedures that should be followed by a graduate to receive the graduation document and academic record?
    A6) Verifying the personal data from the student page on the e-Services Portal as it is in the passport, before the closure of the semester. 2 - Obtaining an electronic clearance from the student page, and printing it out after the approval of all departments. 3- Bringing the university card and the clearance of the Graduation Department or, as advertised, the place of documents delivery.
  • What are the requirements for getting an honors degree?
    1-The first honorary degree is awarded to a student with a cumulative GPA of higher or equivalent to (3.75) at the time of graduation. 2-The second honorary degree is awarded to a student who has a cumulative GPA of (3.25) to less than (3.75) from (4.00) at graduation, in addition to the following conditions: A- The student has not failed in any course of study at the university or in any other university. B- The student must complete the graduation requirements within a maximum period of time between the minimum and maximum stay in the college. C- The student must have studied at the university from which s\he will graduate at least 60% of the graduation requirements.
  • How is the GPA calculated?
    A10) Calculation of the points of each course: Points of each course = The weighted grade of the course * The number of units. B - Calculation of the semester GPA: semester GPA = total number of points of the semester courses÷total number of units of the semester course. C) Calculation of cumulative GPA: GPA= total number of points of all courses ÷ total number of units of all courses.
