This Unit aims at enhancing the pilgrims' awareness. It educates them by setting strategies of executing media campaigns and provides them with information about the Hajj and Umrah system and how to deal with the errors they commit. It also educates them about the problems they face based on scientific analyses and provides them with innovative solutions and mechanisms to deal with such problems.
The Unit encourages and motivates specialists to conduct more studies on the media issues during the pilgrimage. It cooperates with researchers, experts and specialists to issue studies and scientific research on the issues related to awareness, guidance and training of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims and visitors in their own countries and during their stay in Makkah, Madinah and the Holy Sites. It works on preparing such studies and research for publication and distribution in the scientific, intellectual and media circles and submits them to the decision makers and relevant executive agencies.
The Unit also seeks to build an expanded database in the field of mass communication in Hajj by analyzing the latest information and the recent developments related to the communicative environment of Hajj and Umrah and classify them according to the newest scientific and technological methods and approaches. The Unit also aims at making use of the progress and development achieved by humans in the fields related to different activities of the Department.
