The admission of students into the paid postgraduate programs is generally conditional on the following:
- All the conditions specified in Article 13 of the Unified Bylaw for the Postgraduate Studies. Non-Saudi students may be admitted without requiring a scholarship.
- The requirement of having the approval the student's employer shall be confined to public employees whose class schedule is in conflict with the student's working hours.
- The student has to pay the prescribed tuition fees.
Admission Procedures:
- The application for the paid postgraduate programs should be submitted online through the website.
- The applicant must upload all necessary documents to verify the fulfillment of the admission requirements, and ensure that the selection and preference criteria set for the program are met. Following the successful upload of documents, the applicant has to pay the application fees.
- The applicant is required to pay a fee of 150 (one hundred and fifty) Saudi Riyals as a non-refundable application fee, unless the postgraduate program to which (s)he is applying is not activated. The application fee will be paid electronically through the SADAD service. The applicant shall only be notified after payment of the application fee.
- The Admission Unit at the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies shall verify the fulfillment of the admission requirements and the validity of the data entered by the applicant by comparing them to the documents uploaded.
- In the event that the admission requirements are not met, the application will be rejected. The applicant has the right to object to the rejection of the application online through the website, provided that the objection is filed within the fixed time for filing objections specified by the deanship. Supportive documents have to be attached to the objection.
- If the data entered by the applicant does not conform with that stated in the uploaded documents, the Admission Unit shall amend the data entered. The applicant may object to the amendment of the data online through the website, provided that the objection is filed within the fixed time for filing objections specified by the deanship. Supportive documents have to be attached to the objection.
- In case the admission requirements are met and the data entered by the applicant is verified from the uploaded documents, the application enters the electronic selection stage when accepted students are identified, unless the applicant's program requires taking a written examination, an interview, or both. In this case, the application shall be referred to the Executive Committee of the Paid Postgraduate Programs at the college to arrange the written examination, interview, or both, as specified in the program. The application then enters the electronic selection stage to identify the accepted students.
- The electronic system determines the accepted students according to the available places in the postgraduate programs to which they have applied. The students shall be notified that they have been accepted, and will be required to pay the tuition fees within three working days via SADAD service. Failure to comply with this will result in their admission being canceled.
- The electronic system determines which students will be admitted as reserves (on the waiting list), and they may be admitted into the programs if any of the accepted students withdraws their application or does not pay the tuition fees within the payment deadline.
- The applicants shall be notified of all updates on their applications via a text message to their mobile phones, e-mail, or both.
Program Fees:
- Upon enrollment in the program and before the end of each semester, students, except those who are graduating, will have to pay their tuition fees for the following semester on the date specified by the deanship. The tuition fees shall be paid electronically via SADAD service. In the case of non-payment of the tuition fees on the date specified by the deanship, it shall be considered that the student intends to drop out of the program.
- If the student withdraws from the program or delays entry to it, the student fees will not be refunded or carried forward for a future year if it results in a decrease in the number of students in the program, i.e. beyond the minimum number of students needed to activate the postgraduate program. Other than this, the following applies:
- Only half of the tuition fees shall be refunded if the withdrawal application is submitted at least 30 days prior to the first day of class. No part of the fee shall be refunded if the withdrawal application is submitted later than this specified time.
- The paid tuition fees shall be carried forward to the following academic year if the student submits a postponement application at least 30 days prior to the first day of class. The fees shall not be carried forward if the postponement application is submitted after that specified time. If the student fails to join the program in the following year, the fees shall not be carried forward to other future years.
- Beyond the program fees, additional fees shall be applicable if the student fails to pass any of the enrolled courses. The additional fees of re-enrollment in each course are calculated by dividing the program fees by the total number of modules in the program multiplied by the number of modules (units) for that particular course.
- The student shall pay tuition fees for each supplementary course in which (s)he has to enroll. The additional fees for each supplementary course are calculated by dividing the program fees by the total number of modules in the program multiplied by the number of the modules for that supplementary course.
The Study Schedules of the Paid Postgraduate Programs:
The classes shall begin after the official working hours in the public sector and the most common official working hours in the private sector.
In some programs, the classes may be scheduled on the weekends or may be limited to one week per month. Such programs are intensive study programs, in which classes shall be held throughout the day.
