Unit Description
The Scientific Research Unit is affiliated with the English Language Institute at Umm Al-Qura University. It is responsible for identifying the Institute’s research priorities and the research activities of faculty members in alignment with the Institute’s and the University’s vision, mission, and objectives. The Unit also promotes scientific research among faculty members and supports research collaboration with educational and research institutions locally, regionally, and internationally, contributing to the development of research in the field of teaching and learning English for general and specific purposes.

To advance knowledge in the field of learning, teaching, and assessing English for general and specific purposes by providing a supportive research environment that encourages collaboration among Institute members and local and international partners.

Objectives
Document the research activities of faculty members at the Institute.
Prepare a list of research priorities in the field of learning, teaching, and assessing English for general and specific purposes at the Institute.
Support research collaboration among faculty members and with the Institute’s partners locally, regionally, and internationally.
Provide guidance on all matters related to scientific research in accordance with University and Institute regulations.
Review submitted research proposals and determine their implementation timelines.
Document the Institute’s scholarly impact by publishing research activities on social media and the University’s website.
Organize seminars, workshops, and scientific conferences.
