Historical Overview:

According to the wise vision and Royal Order of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the College of Engineering at Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) in Qunfudha was established in 1432H. This aimed to graduate engineers with scientific know-how and high practical skills in engineering specialties required for the Saudi and regional labor market.

The College offers a bachelor's degree in the following disciplines: Construction Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, and Environmental Engineering.

It is worth mentioning that the study began in the Department of Construction Engineering in the academic year 1433H, and in the Department of Industrial Engineering in 1434H.

Within this framework, the College was equipped with the latest laboratory equipment and teaching aids. Moreover, the study plans for the academic departments were prepared according to:

  • Recent global technological developments and labor market needs.
  • The standards of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
  • The standards of the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA).

In this regard, the educational facilities and plans allow graduates to have access to a high level of education that enables them to compete in the local and regional labor markets. In addition, they enable them to resume their postgraduate studies in the prestigious international universities. The study plans aim also to help graduates of this College pass professional tests for engineers such as FE and PE.
