Admission Conditions:

Successful completion of the preparatory year in Al-Leith University College, Umm Al-Qura University, or Umm Al-Qura University in Mecca, and meeting other requirements according to the preparatory year system.

Educational Objectives:

  1. Helping students to acquire the knowledge, skills and behaviors that help them shine in postgraduate studies and scientific research and qualify them for reaching the best positions in the labor market;
  2. Enhancing sense of independence and initiative, instilling quality and ongoing development culture, encouraging students to use self-learning and work in teams, and supporting the scientific research system for serving the educational process and for improving the department ranking on the local and international levels;
  3. Constantly developing the department to reach the highest rankings and be the destination of distinguished students, staff and researchers; and
  4. Employing the qualified people of the department in serving the society through consultations, public lectures and workshops.

Program Graduates:

Upon their graduation, students will be able to:

  1. Employ their knowledge in computer and computer science-related mathematics;
  2. Analyze problems and identify the requirements of suitable computer solutions;
  3. Design, execute and evaluate systems, procedures, components and programs related to computers to meet the required needs;
  4. Work effectively in teams to achieve a common goal;
  5. Understand the ethical, professional, legal, social and security issues and responsibilities;
  6. Communicate effectively with certain categories of beneficiaries;
  7. Analyze the local and international effects of computing on individuals, organizations and the society;
  8. Realize the need and importance of involvement in ongoing professional development;
  9. Use technology and the required skills and tools for computing;
  10.  Apply mathematical rules, algorithms and computer science theories in prototypes and design computer systems in a way that reflects understanding the positive and negative aspects of design options; and
  11.  Apply design and development principles in developing programs on different levels of complication.
