Umm Al-Qura University has established an administrative body called "Public Administration of Land and Property". It is one of the departments within the organizational structure of the Vice Presidency for Branches, and is affiliated directly to His Excellency the Vice President. The body is concerned with documenting the properties of Umm Al-Qura University, and recording the cadastral map of the sites owned by the University in Mecca and its affiliated governorates. Its role entails preserving the sites from any infringements, and reporting the matter to the competent authorities to remove them, if any, in order to preserve public funds and state property. The Public Administration of Land and Property is considered to be the main entity responsible for coordinating with other competent governmental bodies that are concerned with the properties of Umm Al-Qura University, from lands, buildings, and public facilities.
