Under the auspices of the Dean of UQU College of Business Administration, Dr. Sultan A. al-Baqami, the college participated in Annual Forum for Major Selection organized by the Deanship of Preparatory Year on Monday, Jumada I 30, 1438H, corresponding to February 27, 2017, at the Deanship premises (Girls Section, Al-Shesha). The event, held under the supervision of Dr. Aliaa al-Jendi, Vice Dean of the Preparatory Year, was attended by Dr. Suzan A. Wazan, Vice Dean of the College of Business Administration for Girls, representing the college, as well as Ms. Wafaa Shaqroon, coordinator of the forum, Dr. Hanaa al-Otaibi, Assistant Head of the Department of Business Administration, Ms. Manal al-Shahri, Assistant Head of the Department of Marketing, and Ms. Samaher al-Judeibi, Assistant Head of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality.
The College of Business Administration participated with an address delivered by Dr. Suzan Wazan, Vice Dean of the College. She gave an overview of the college, and the various opportunities it offers. She also touched on the college's efforts to obtain academic accreditation, by means of offering its courses in English to raise students' potentials of getting better jobs, and encouraging them to acquire other skills that qualify them for the labor market, and prepare them for contributing to realizing the Saudi Vision 2030. Moreover, she urged students to contact the college and its vice dean to get more information.
This was followed by the launch of the corners of each department, supervised by heads of the departments. The students representing the departments provided pieces of advice, and gave a brief account of each department's courses and activities, as well as distributing several brochures.
The forum included a workshop held under the theme: "How to Select the Suitable Major". It was given by Dr. Ahlam Bousaeed, who tackled several topics, including: the basic principles for major selection, identifying personal tendencies and capabilities, and how to choose the major that goes in line with the personal capabilities.
At the end, Dr. Suzan Wazan, the Vice Dean of the College of Girls Section, has extended profound thanks to all who participated in this forum, wishing them the best of luck.
