An activity of the Practical Education Forum entitled, "The Renewed Teacher in the Shadow of the Coronavirus Pandemic and Afterward", was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, 27 and 28 Muharram, 1442 A.H., in the presence of the academic staff and a large number of the female students. The forum aimed at preparing the student teacher and providing her with all the pedagogical expertise needed in the pedagogical field, whether in actual or virtual reality.
The forum started with the recitation of verses from the noble Qur'an. Next, the General Supervisor of the Practical Education Office, Dr. Eman Tariq Rayes, delivered her speech in which she welcomed the attendees. After that, she clarified the mechanism of implementing the practical education course in the shadow of the Coronavirus pandemic, and introduced the student teacher to the most prominent rights and duties that she should know.
Dr. Hadil Waqqad, a member of the academic staff at the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, gave a presentation entitled, "The Renewed Female Teacher and Keeping Pace with the Educational Process". Through this presentation, Dr. Hadil tackled several points: introducing the significance of distance education, the skills needed when using it, and some applications that help the female student teacher in the educational process. Following this was a presentation by Dr. Fatehiyya Khogali, a member of the academic staff at the Department of Family Education, entitled, "The Outstanding Female Teacher: Characteristics and Features", in which she highlighted the most important features and characteristics of the outstanding teacher. Dr. Fatehiyya also gave general advice to the student teacher to help her with her first experience of teaching.
On the following day, Dr. Manal Baghdadi, a member of the academic staff at the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, made a presentation entitled, "Organization of the Summer Environment in Actual and Virtual Reality", explaining how to arrange the summer environment. She discussed the steps needed for this task, and informed the female student teacher about the problems she may encounter in the pedagogical field, whether the education was remote or in person, and the best ways to deal with such problems and solve them. This was followed by a review of some previous experiences and expertise in field training, presented by the student Shahd Matar Al-Zahrani.
At the end of the forum, Dr. Haniyah Saadawi delivered a presentation entitled, "Technology and Design of Outstanding Education in the Twentieth First Century". The presentation included many themes, the most important of which was the empowerment of the female trainee to develop an action plan and implement it in groups, as well as making use of the most significant modern strategies when implementing the plan, in a creative manner.
Finally, Her Excellency the General Supervisor of the Practical Education Office, Dr. Eman Rayes, expressed her thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the Acting Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Al-Unud Mahdar, His Excellency the Head of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Fawwaz bin Salih Al-Sulami, and the Deputy Head of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Abeer Al-Urabi, for their support of the practical education programs.
