The College of Engineering and the College of Computers in Al-Leith have adopted a number of preventive and precautionary procedures in conjunction with the employees returning to commence their work starting today, Sunday, 8 Shawwal 1441 A.H. These procedures were taken within the keenness of the deanships of the two colleges to address the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and curb its spread.
These procedures included: preparing the work environment by sterilizing the educational buildings and creating screening points, organizing entry and exit routes, continuing to provide distance services for the beneficiaries, arranging employees gradual return to the work according to the plan of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and the recommendations of the university leadership, as well as applying flexible work hours and dividing work teams into groups to achieve the work alternately, as decided by the heads of the departments, sections and computer units in the male and female sections. These were arranged in a manner which ensures social distancing and reduces risks.
The Dean of the Colleges of Engineering and Computers, Dr. Iskandar bin Muhammad Hawsawi, stressed that the deanship and its supportive departments had started the implementation of the preventive and precautionary plans and the spreading of various awareness messages. He said the deanship had started its media and awareness plan for the employees under the slogan of "Returning with Caution!" # through all its electronic platforms and websites. The deanship stressed the importance of adopting the health and preventative tips, which include: maintaining social distancing, avoiding shaking hands, avoiding gatherings, wearing cloth masks, washing hands with water and soap or continuously sterilizing them, using stairs and avoiding the use of elevators, using personal or paper cups for drinks, performing prayers on one's personal prayer rug and keeping a distance of 1.5 to 2 meters between the worshipers, and avoiding touching surfaces and other objects.
Dr. Hawsawi appreciated the efforts exerted by the state, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz (may Allah safeguard them), and the care given to the health of the citizens and residents in the Saudi Kingdom. Moreover, he expressed his appreciation for the efforts exerted by all the sectors of the state, especially the Ministry of Health.
