Within the endeavors of activating the community service agreement inked between the College of Dentistry and Kafel Orphans Welfare Organization, the UQU College of Dentistry and its mobile clinics participated in the initiative of 'The Language of the First Orphan Is the Language of the Qur’an'. The initiative was organized by the Kafel Organization under the noble patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Emir of Makkah Province.
The participation was fruitful, purposeful, and effective because the college participated for the first time with four clinics to serve the orphans, including two clinics that were prepared for screening, fluoride application, and health awareness, in addition to a mobile clinic specialized for treatment. During the initiative, 58 orphans were dentally examined and were treated with fluoride for cavity prevention, fillings were placed for 18 orphans, and in one case, an emergency root channel was performed.
The event was attended by the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Abdul-Wahab Al-Resini, the Vice Dean of the Dentistry College for Educational Affairs, Dr. Alaa bin Zuhair bin Makki, and the Vice Dean of the College of Dentistry for Academic Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Jameel bin Abdul-Salam bin Jameel Abul-Jadail. The honorable visitors appreciated the services offered by the organization for this dear category of the community, and stressed the importance of the university role in joining such initiatives and community services which benefit everyone, asking Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) to grant success to this organization and those in charge of it.
