The Dean of the College of Engineering in Al-Leith, Dr. Iskandar bin Muhammad Hawsawi, inaugurated "The First Engineering Expertise Forum", which was organized by the college as part of the best fruits of the academic, research, educational and community service programs, aiming at providing unique programs with various specializations targeting the service of the individual and society. The First Engineering Expertise Forum included a speech delivered by the Vice Dean of the College, Dr. Muhammad bin Taher Abid, in which he welcomed the participants in the forum, including the academic staff, students, employees, as well as the guests of the forum. In addition, he asserted that the college is honored to launch many programs, on top of which is "The First Engineering Expertise Forum", by hosting academic staff, engineers and researchers from the national cadres who have a proven track record of achievements and extensive experience in environmental engineering, telecommunication engineering, and aeronautical engineering, besides having a proven track record in many functional tasks they worked on during their career.
After that, the forum's guest, the Engineer Abdullah Al-Shahrani, delivered a speech about his 25-year journey that included engineering, aviation, Hajj, Umrah, journalism, and media, through which he gained the qualities of putting one's trust in Allah, and being constantly determined and persistent in working to achieve national gains as well as the renaissance enjoyed by the Saudi kingdom in various fields. Moreover, Engineer Abdullah encouraged the students and the fresh graduates to benefit from the programs provided by many bodies aiming at training, qualifying, enhancing capabilities, exploiting capabilities to benefit from them, gaining new opportunities in the engineering field, and exchanging experiences in the work environment that cope with development and renaissance.
On his part, the Dean of the College, Dr. Iskandar Hawsawi, pointed out the significance of the forum, in terms of building strategic plans for the future of engineering education on all levels and in all specializations. This is in addition to the personal outcomes, becoming familiar with the latest developed and advanced educational programs and plans in the engineering field, and learning how they can reach the forefront of the programs and specializations in terms of academic and professional development.
He remarked that the forum organized by the college comes within a continuing series of professional and training forums and programs, in which prominent figures of the academic staff, and specialized professionals of various engineering organizations participate. The forum tackled the most important standards of engineering education, as well as academic accreditation, professional examinations, and tackling the future of engineering in general and the new developments that have resulted from it. Moreover, he appreciated the earnest guidance given by His Excellency UQU's President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, and his unlimited support to the college and its programs, aiming at the service of all the students (males and females) as well as the society.
It is worth mentioning that the First Engineering Expertise Forum comes as an extension of the earnest efforts exerted by the College of Engineering in Al-Leith to continuously keep pace with the developments in the field of engineering to develop the engineering sector on all levels, with the aim of promoting the national economy and the national product and developing the cadres working in the field of engineering.
