To achieve its objectives and confirm its mission in serving the heritage and whatever relates to it, the Institute of Manuscripts and Revival of Islamic Heritage participated in the 19th Forum of the ‘History and Civilization of Makkah Throughout Time’, organized by the UQU in cooperation with the Saudi Historical Society.
The participation of the institute covered three aspects, achieving its main objectives; as the institute presented its publications of verified books on the history of Makkah, including:
Moreover, the indexes of the general manuscripts of the institute were displayed. Next, the institute presented a heritage study which discussed the graphic analysis of the drawings of the Holy Mosque (from the eleventh to the nineteenth century A.C.) The study was conducted by Dr. Razan Ahmad Erqsous, a professor at the College of Designs. In collecting her scientific content, Dr. Razan relied mostly on the manuscripts during successive stages of the history of the architecture of the Holy Mosque.
The institute also provided a special publication about ‘Makkah in the Islamic Manuscripts: Drawings and Pictures’, in cooperation with the researcher Sheikh Yousuf Al-Subhi. The corner was greatly admired by the visitors and was praised by everyone.
