The College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies, represented by the Deanship for Training and Community Service, held a workshop entitled, "The Practical Application of the Forms Approved by the College for Postgraduate Studies", at Jafali hall, on Thursday, 8 Rabi` Al-Thani, 1441 A.H. The workshop was offered by Her Excellency, Dr. Khayriyah Hausawi, with the help of Dr. Amal Al-Harbi. It was attended by female postgraduate students, and the Vice Dean of the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies for Training and Community Service, Dr. Maha Al-Utaibi.
Her Excellency Dr. Khayriyah started the event by welcoming the attendants and introducing herself. She then asked the audience if they had seen the plan (the new forms). She added that it was necessary to be convinced about the decision when choosing a research topic, and to respond quickly to the information. She pointed out that the introduction should be concise and in the researcher's own words, and that the research should tackle a real-world problem. She asked the audience to choose topics, and listened to their answers and inquires. Afterwards, she talked about common mistakes in writing a research problem.
She mentioned some examples of research questions that highlight the research problem, and the necessity of stating the goals of the scientific research, such as (correcting false conceptions, studying certain issues, etc.) Afterwards, she requested the female attendants to write down the importance of the research topic they had chosen and had discussed with her. At the end of the workshop, she asked them if they had found this workshop useful or not.
At the end of the course, Her Excellency the Vice Dean of the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies for Training and Community Services praised the efforts of the presenters of this workshop, and handed them certificates of appreciation and thanks. She also expressed her desire for such outstanding efforts to continue, and wished them much success and progress.
