Postgraduate Studies Unit (Aali) Holds a Workshop Entitled: ‘Presentation of the Policies and Procedures Guidelines’

The Postgraduate Studies Unit (Aali), represented by the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies and the Institute of Consulting Research and Studies, organized the second workshop of the Postgraduate Studies Unit (Aali) for colleges on Tuesday evening, 29 Rabi` Al-Awwal 1441 A.H. The workshop was entitled "Presentation of the Policies and Procedures Guidelines". The Vice President of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Abdul-Wahab Al-Resini, attended the workshop, in addition to a number of deans, vice deans, heads of the departments, and academic coordinators.

The workshop aimed to draw the work plan and clarify the role of all concerned parties in the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies, the institute, and the relevant colleges with regard to the administrative and academic transactions between them.

The workshop started with the recitation of some verses from the glorious Qur’an, followed by an introductory film on the Aali Unit. It included the unit's vision to be the local and international destination for paid postgraduate programs by 2030, as well as the unit's mission, objectives, and future aspirations.

After that, the Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Saeed, gave a presentation on the academic aspect of the guidelines. He explained the strategic identity of the unit, which aims to achieve professional management and distinctive planning of the paid postgraduate studies programs in a manner serving both individuals and society, according to the national needs and the labor market requirements. The dean then talked about the organizational structure of the unit with a detailed explanation of the tasks of the Executive Committee. After this, His Excellency explained the role of the academic coordinator and the necessary conditions for his nomination, and concluded by talking about the general provisions in teaching and supervision and the mechanism for conducting procedures.

Moreover, the Dean of the Institute of Consulting Research and Studies, Dr. Ali Al-Sha`iri, presented the financial and administrative aspects of the unit that clarify the disbursements. The presentation included the operational aspect of the unit of the dues of the academic staff and administrative staff. Dr. Ali Al-Sha`iri also touched upon the capitalist aspect, which aims to create a stimulating university environment for students and academic staff. During the presentation, some short videos reflecting the unit's past achievements were shown. In addition, the workshop witnessed the launch of the e-contracts service by the Deanship of Information Technology; as Eng. Salim Bahamdain presented the mechanism of access to contracts, and the actual start date.

The workshop finished with a discussion during the dialogue session of the interventions and suggestions of the attendance led by the Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Muhammad Al-Sufi, with the participation of Dr. Sulaiman Al-Saeed, Dr. Ali Al-Sha`iri, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Majrashi, Dr. Thamir Al-Umairi, Dr. Nawwaf Al-Harithi, and Dr. Turki Al-Utaibi. Thus, the workshop ended, hoping to renew the introductory meeting of the unit with the male and female students of postgraduate studies.
