On Tuesday, 22 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1441 A.H., corresponding to 19 November, 2019 A.C., under the patronage of the University Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Sarah Al-Khuli, the Department of English Language held its Second Academic Forum entitled: "Consilience and Enhancing the Bridges Between Science and the Humanities."
The forum was a unique platform for the presentation of interdisciplinary studies, with the participation of selected academic members from Umm Al-Qura University, such as Dr. Hanadi Bihairi, Dr. Hanaa Yamani, Dr. Khadija Al-Jabri, Dr. Dimah Abdul-Jabbar, Dr. Mariam Al-Ghamdi, Dr. Ulwiyah Al-Siyami, and Ms. Asmaa Mukhtar. Moreover, the forum was also honored to receive the valuable participation of Dr. Latifah Abdul-Karim from King Saud University and Prof. Hissah Al-Dihan from Kuwait University.
The forum was attended by more than 530 leaders, academic members, and female students from UQU including Dr. Haifaa Fida, Dr. Samira Al-Abdali, Dr. Wafaa Muhdar, Dr. Fa'izah Al-Lihyani, Dr. Sumayyah Sharaf, Dr. Maysun Al-Bunyan, in addition to researchers from neighboring universities, and employees of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Education.
After reviewing participations over two hours, the Vice Dean of the College of Social Sciences, Dr. Khulud Al-Thubaiti, and the Deputy Head of the Department of English Language, Dr. Hadil Azhar, thanked and honored the participants and the organizers of the activities committee for this distinguished scientific event. They were Dr. Aishah Al-Subhi, Dr. Muharram Turkistani, Dr. Nada Al-Utaibi, Dr. Nasim Al-Utaibi, Dr. Khadija Al-Jabri, Dr. Wijdan Al-Saadi, and Dr. Tahani Al-Harbi.
It is worth mentioning that the forum gained the approval of the audience, and its great success has echoed across social media sites over the past two days. This has prompted the organizers of the forum to look forward to next year's event, hoping that it will be expanded to include participations from across the Kingdom and the Arab world.
