The Department of Tourism and Hospitality at the College of Business Administration organized a lecture under the title “Future of Tourism in KSA”. The lecture was held under the auspices of Dr. Suzan Al-Wazzan, the Deputy of the College of Business Administration, and the supervision of Dr. Ali Al-Qasem, the Head of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality, and Ms. Samaher Al-Gudaibi, the Vice-head of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality.
Ms. Sarah Al-Qasem, Trainer and Lecturer in tourism and hospitality at the College of Laureate, was hosted at the event and gave a speech in which she addressed the importance of tourism sector, its role in achieving Vision 2030, and the future aspiration of the Kingdom in this sector. Furthermore, she shed light on the role of the students at the academic departments of tourism in developing this industry, given the importance of Makkah Al-Mukarramah as religious tourism destination.
Over and above, Ms. Al-Qasem introduced the International Day for Tourism; that corresponds to September 27, to the students, after which she mentioned the main annual conferences that are regularly held in the region to support the tourism and hospitality sector. She also tackled the Kingdom’s challenges in tourism and the importance of raising the awareness of the people on tourism and encourage domestic tourism through supporting and promoting the archaeological centers, for their significant role in activating domestic tourism, and consequently, achieving the Kingdom’s future vision.
Concluding, Ms. Al-Qasem encouraged the students to develop their leadership skills, and urged the college to support them through providing scientific references to help them in their academic path.
