The Center of Excellence in Genomic Medicine Research at King Abdulaziz University hosted the Biology Department. A delegation from the Department headed by His Excellency Dr. Samir bin Hassan Muhammad Qari, accompanied by a selection of members of the department, students of the master's program in Genetics and a number of distinguished undergraduate students, visited the Center of Excellence in Genomic Medicine Research at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah. This visit which took place on Wednesday, 9 October 2019, came as part of the activities of the Biology Department in Jamoum.

The visitors were received by His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Al-Qahtani, Director of the Center, His Excellency Dr. Adil Abu Zinada, Director of King Fahd for Medical Research, and a number of staff of the Center of Excellence in Genomic Medicine Research.

His Excellency Dr. Samir Qari expressed his thanks and appreciation to Their Excellencies for their welcoming reception and hospitality. He also conveyed to them the greetings of His Excellency the Dean of the University College in Jamoum, Dr. Suhail Bin Salim Al-Harbi. On his part, His Excellency Prof. Muhammad Al-Qahtani appreciated this visit, and welcomed the joint cooperation between the two sides through the formation of joint working committees to activate cooperation and put it into effect.

Moreover, the Director of King Fahd Center for Medical Research, Dr. Adil Abu Zinada, expressed his appreciation for the visit, pointing out that King Fahd Center spares no effort in investing scientific energies and expertise to activate research partnerships at the level of members or postgraduate students.

The delegation then toured the center and viewed the facilities and capabilities. In addition, several scientific sessions were held which aimed at providing students with information and skills in cellular genetic and molecular techniques, in addition to functional genomics.
