The patient is transferred to the clinic by the treating physician, who asks them to proceed to the reception department to book an appointment to visit the clinic at a specific time.
1. General Education for Diabetics:
Defining diabetes, outlining the symptoms of high and low blood sugar and how to deal with the disease, and explaining the complications of the disease, how to take care of diabetic feet, and how to use, inject and store the insulin needles or pens.
2. General Education for Patients with Hypertension:
Defining hypertension, guiding them on how to deal with it, outlining the symptoms of hypertension and hypotension, and explaining the complications of the disease.
3. General Education for Asthma Patients:
Training the patients and the families of the children suffering from asthma on how to use the asthma sprays.
4. Explanation of the Steps for Early Detection of Breast Cancer for the Target Groups.
The General Director of the University Medical Center, Dr. Yasin bin Hasan Bahakim, mentioned that the “Health Education Clinic” is part of the medical care services that contribute to improving and developing performance. He added that this clinic contributes to dedicating much time and effort to the patients suffering from chronic diseases, who need special care, as the clinic follows up their cases according to a well-organized mechanism that serves this purpose. It is expected that the clinic will also contribute to offering training to female students of the Department of Health Education at the College of Public Health and Health Informatics. This will be implemented as part of the continuous cooperation between the University Medical Center and all the UQU medical colleges.
