The Vice-Deanship of the College of Shari'ah and Islamic Studies for Training and Community Service, in cooperation with Ithraa Al-Motoon Company, held a training course on, 'Electronic Research Skills', on Monday, 4 Rabi' Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H. It was presented by Mr. Mashari bin Sami Al-Babtin. A group of the academic affiliates, bachelor students, and graduate students in jurisprudence and the principles of jurisprudence attended the course in the presence of the Vice-Deans of the College for Training and Community Service.
At the beginning of the gathering, the presenter of the course welcomed the attendants. Then he pointed out the major themes that the course would cover. He explained the function of ‘Advanced Search’. The user will enter the phrase he wishes to search for in the search field in Google. Next, he should go to the settings and choose 'Advanced Search'. Afterwards, a page will appear that shows the search options. Then the user may choose to display the data from Google, Twitter or any other information platform. The workshop presenter then reviewed Al-Maktabah Al-Shamela that was designed by one of the programmers. This search engine has many advantages as searching in Shamela library can be undertaken by determining the book or by searching through texts; Next, he mentioned the Jami` Al-Fiqh Site and the right way of loading books to Jami` Al-Fiqh; and finally he talked about the digital libraries that can be accessed through a person's university account. The available programs in the database include: Dar Al-Manzumat and Al-Manhal.
As the course gained their approval and administration, the attendants, at the end of the course, expressed their thanks and appreciation to Mr. Mashari Al-Babtin.
