University Medical Center Establishes the “Clinical Pharmacy Clinic”

The University Medical Center announced the establishment of the "Clinical Pharmacy Clinic" within the framework of continuous cooperation between the Center and the medical colleges of the University to provide pharmaceutical care to all the Center's visitors, including the university employees and those who are eligible for treatment.

Dr. Yasser bin Hassan Ba-hakim, Director General of the Medical Center, said that the "Clinical Pharmacy Clinic" is part of the modern health services that contribute to the improvement and development of performance in line with the vision of the Kingdom of 2030. Moreover, it contributes to ensuring the continuity of the quality of the treatment and preventive services provided to all the visitors of the University Medical Center. The clinic will be supervised by Dr. Abdullah bin Adnan Al-Hefani, a faculty member of UQU Pharmacy College, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Dr. Yasser Bahakim expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to Dr. Abdullah bin Omar Bafeel, UQU President, for the great support and attention of the University Medical Center. He also commended the efforts of the University's Vice-President, Dr. Yasser bin Sulaiman Shosho, for the work and services of the Center, which contributed to the development of the services provided to all students and employees of the university. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the College of Pharmacy, represented by Dr. Abdullah Al-Heifani, for his contribution in ensuring the continuity of the quality of pharmacy care services provided to all the Center's visitors.

For his part, Dr. Abdullah Al-Hefani said that one of the objectives of the development of this clinic is to educate and train patients with chronic diseases on the way to use drugs, as well as to follow up the patient's response to treatment with the drug prescribed by the tests for this and according to the doctor's plan, achieving the maximum benefit of the treatment of the patient, and reduce the exposure to side effects of drugs or the treatment of inaccurate doses, with the possibility of benefiting from this clinic in the future in the training of the internship year students from the College of Pharmacy.

He stressed that the presence of this service in the University Medical Center is a quantum leap in the level of medical services, in addition to its contribution in providing a lot of time and effort to chronic patients, who need to repeat the disbursement of medicines on a regular basis, through the follow-up in the clinic and according to organized mechanism.
